Metter Moves Trails

A recreation trail design, proposed by an Archway Partnership intern and UGA College of Environment and Design (CED) student under the supervision of fellow Archway and CED graduate student assistant and the Candler Archway Professional, was approved by the Candler County Archway Partnership in July 2014. The students conducted site visits, used ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and photoshop computer-based design programs, and collaborated with expert UGA professors during summer 2014 to design 7.5 miles of trails that connect existing downtown routes to parks and recreational areas throughout the community.

The trails are the perfect places to take a walk during lunch break or halftime, bike or rollerblade with your family, check out historical points of interest, or train for the next 5K.
